How TakeHome works

From the first tour to the final decision, TakeHome keeps your impressions organized and your thinking clear.

1

Capture during the tour

Open TakeHome when you walk through the door. The tour capture mode gives you a focused, distraction-free interface for recording what you see and feel.

  • Snap photos of every room, detail, or red flag
  • Record voice notes hands-free while you walk around
  • Jot down quick text notes on anything that stands out
  • Tag your gut reaction: love, unsure, or no
2

Set your priorities

After a tour or two, TakeHome prompts you to set up to five priorities that matter most in your search. Each gets a weight: must-have, important, or nice-to-have.

  • Choose from common priorities like natural light, commute, or layout
  • Add your own custom priorities
  • Weight each one to reflect how much it matters
  • Evaluate every home against your priorities with one tap
3

Rate and review

Back from the tour, fill in ratings for each home across four dimensions. Combined with your priorities and reactions, these become the foundation for comparison.

  • Rate overall impression, location, layout, and condition (1-5 each)
  • Add vibe tags to remember the feeling of a place
  • Paste the listing URL for easy reference
  • Move homes through your funnel: saved, toured, top pick, or rejected
4

Compare side by side

Once you have two or more homes, the Compare view puts them next to each other. Swipe through your options and see exactly how they stack up against your priorities.

  • Two-property side-by-side layout with photos
  • Priority match comparison table
  • Swap and cycle through all your non-rejected homes
5

Get your Quick Take

Quick Take is your personalized recommendation engine. It scores every home based on your ratings, priorities, and reactions, then tells you where you stand in plain language.

  • Composite scoring: 40% ratings, 50% priority matches, 10% gut reaction
  • Confidence tiers: clear leader, close call, or split decision
  • Grounded reasoning: 'you rated it highest,' not 'we recommend'
  • Inspectable breakdown so you can see exactly how the score was calculated

Decide together with Couples Mode

Home buying is rarely a solo decision. Couples Mode lets two decision-makers each rate and review homes independently, then see where they align and where they differ.

  • Independent priorities, ratings, and reactions for each partner
  • Combined scores displayed as X/10
  • AI-powered summaries that surface agreement and disagreement
  • Synced across devices so you can tour independently
